What a film physically does on glass

Scroll down — the diagram on the left stays in place and changes with each section.

Reflection

Heat is rejected before it enters the room

About half of sunlight is infrared radiation. The metallised layer reflects this portion back outside at the glass surface — up to 79 % of total solar energy never reaches the room. The air conditioning runs less, and on south-facing façades we typically measure 3–7.6 °C less.

Absorption

The same effect, without the mirror look

Nano-ceramic particles absorb solar energy instead of reflecting it. The pane stays close to neutral from outside — no mirror image on the façade — while heat gain drops noticeably. The choice when daylight and a clear view outside need to be preserved.

UV protection

Over 99 % of UV radiation stops at the film

  • The UV barrier layer is highly transparent — clear as glass. Visible light passes through almost unhindered while UV is held back.
  • Floors, furniture, textiles and displayed goods keep their colour far longer, without the room getting darker.
Security

The pane breaks — but it stays in the frame

The glass splinters stay stuck to the film and are prevented from flying uncontrolled into the room. At the same time, the security film spreads the force of the impact across a larger area of the glazing. After a break, the pane therefore largely stays together as one surface at first. This additional protection makes a full break-through harder and can noticeably delay entry through the glazing. Depending on the film system and glass build-up, tested and certified security solutions offering increased protection against forced entry are also available.

Privacy

Light passes through, the view doesn't

The matte surface scatters passing light in every direction. The room stays bright while the image behind it dissolves — a frosted-glass look, without replacing the pane. For partitions, meeting rooms, practices and restrooms.

We bring sample strips and a measuring device and record the values on your own pane.
